We had a rough night’s sleep with the occasional plane and the neighbour hood dogs kicking off from about 3 am. 

We got up early because we thought that the boat leaving for 7th Heaven was leaving at 8:30. We ate some breakfast and then made our way down to the wharf at 8 to check in. It turned out that although checkin opened at 8 the boat to 7th Heaven wasn’t leaving until 11.

Wth a couple of hours to spare we decided to make our way over to an IGA supermarket that was not far from the apartment. There we were able to get some fruits, vegetables and groceries to get us through the next couple of days.

We dropped our purchases back to the apartment and then returned to wharf with plenty of time to spare until our boat ride. 

7th Heaven 

The boat ride kicked off at 11 and took around 40 mins to get us out to a converted barge that had been made into a 2 story floating bar and restaurant. We had been allocated a table near the bar and the boat was anchored just off the reef. We got set up and then went out onto the reef to do some snorkelling. It was low tide at this point but we still had the opportunity to see some spectacular pieces of coral loaded with sea life. 

We snorkelled for a while and then jumped off the leap of faith a couple of times. We snorkelled some more and then ate pizza and drank smoothies. 

Kaitlyn and I went out a few more times to film on the reef as the tide came in and gave the schools of fish more room to spread out over the coral that they were using as a home. The diversity of sea life was spectacular and everywhere I looked there was more to see.

I had the camera trained on the surface of the coral at one point and then I realised that there were different types of fish living closer in. 

We took the drone out for a couple of flights in the afternoon. We went around the vessel and then did a couple of runs over the top. We filmed Kaitlyn jumping off the leap of faith.

The first drone crash

The second time we were bringing the drone in, it had just about landed when it decided to take off again, it clipped Tine’s finger and fell between the rails of the leap of faith it then flew sideways into the rails before switching off and falling to the floor. Thankfully it didn’t appear to do any significant damage and should live to fly another day. 

Limbo competition

Tine and Kaitlyn entered a limbo competition and won. Tine won 6 – 8 shots of banana rum, she gave the majority of it away to the other passengers, we did keep a couple to try. Kaitlyn won a blue slushie, which she throughly enjoyed. 

Tine and I danced salsa to a couple of the songs at the end of the day and then we packed up to catch the boat back to the wharf. 

Once back on solid ground, we collected our car, paid for our parking and made our way back to our apartment via IGA to collect a couple of extra bits to make dinner with.
