As far as Christmas Days go that one was up there as one of the best, we had a bit of a shaky start when someone (Byron) decided to wake up around 2am and found that Santa had already been, he was so excited that he decided to go and tell Paige. Tiff managed to get him to go back to sleep and we were up at around 5 to open presents. The kids scored well with Byron getting a mountain Bike and Paige (the mad scientist) a microscope and box of slides. Good times.

After the kids were done with present opening we jumped into the surf mobile and headed down to Mermaid Beach for a Christmas surf, the conditions weren’t great and I didn’t manage to catch anything but there were a few of the lads out the back to wish a Merry Christmas to and it was a great way to start the day. The kids stayed in close and managed to catch a bit of white wash with their body boards.

Once we were all surfed out we made our way over to Jake, Lana and Hope’s place where there was a box of Christmas cheer from Mum and Dad with something for everyone, it also included one of Mum’s world famous Christmas cakes and some decorations for Jake and Lana’s apartment. We cooked up a big batch of breakfast tacos and everyone had a great time.

Next stop was Jen and Chad’s place for Christmas lunch and a lazy afternoon spent poolside with mango daiquiris. Christmas lunch was Vietnamese pork rolls that Tiff and Chad made and they were amazing.

Carly and Terry arrived in the late afternoon from their Christmas adventure and we all jumped in the pool to throw Chad’s gigantic beach ball that he had picked up for Christmas day to each other, a lot of fun and a great way to work up an appetite for more of that delicious Christmas food.

We were still at Jen and Chad’s place come dinner which consisted of the world’s biggest turkey, ham, a delicious potato bake and a sexy salad. As I said that was one Christmas day that was up there with the best of them.
